Intro: Kaitlyn

Let me introduce myself: I am Kaitlyn Livingston Swain, wife and best friend to my husband and hero, Sam. We've been married for a whopping two and a half months, and life has never been better. I can't understand how I lived without him before. I am a blonde at heart, although my age and my head seem to be rebelling and turning me darker. I am a student, studying Exercise and Wellness (we'll get to that in a second). I am a lover of books, food, running, cooking, vacationing, and spending time with those who are closest to me. I am determined, strong willed, and gentle. I want nothing more to be a mother. I am a Christian, and more specifically a Latter-day Saint. My religion and my Savior are the foundations of my life. I am a firm believer in prayer, and in the power of miracles. I love to write, and I am excited to share some of my thoughts and my goals with all of you through this blog.

As I mentioned earlier, I am an Exercise and Wellness major. In a nutshell, this major encompasses exercise and nutrition of the body, and health of the mind. Being a student at BYU, I also have the opportunity to study the health of the human spirit, which is just as important. Body, Mind, Spirit. Those three things make up what we call life, and are inseparably connected. Each is a vital part to our growth and happiness.

And my quest is to find TRUTH. There are so many pulls from all areas of the world to be this or that. What is the truth? What will bring peace and happiness and a feeling of confidence with oneself that is so often missing from each of us? I believe that truth is something that we will come to know completely at a future date, but that date is not likely today. Or tomorrow. It is a lifelong quest!
Welcome to the adventure.

Who likes being punished?

I recommend reading this article and sincerely analyzing your own view on health and exercise. In your mind, is it a necessary evil or a necessary benefit? Can you make moving and living enjoyable or do you always approach it the way you approach cleaning the toilet: painful but rewarding?
I suggest having a complete mind revolution on the way you look at/think about health and exercise. Identify your purpose. Is it to be an example to others? Is it for your own wellbeing? Is it because someday this body of yours will be much less capable if you don't train it well now?
